Tyre Wear and Damage Condition: Rib Sinking

Tread Damage
Wear appearing on alternate ribs. Excessive wear on one tyre compared to other tyres. Alternate ribs can have excessive wear.

Causes of Damage/Wear

Most common cause for this type of failure is because of pitted or damaged bearings. It can also happen if the vehicle has been modified (spring leaf addition).

Action on Tyre
Check if the tyre can be repaired. If the damage is high, go for replacement or Re-treading .
Action on Vehicle
Do wheel alignment. Get the periodical servicing of vehicle and replace if the hub bearings are pitted or damaged.

Check the tyre conditions periodically.
